Glass substrate traceability on solar cells

Traceability through Datamatrix code, alphanumerical code, or both, is highly recommended in thin film solar cells glass substrate production. Laser marking on one side of the panel might affect also its opposite side, where a very thin conductive coating is applied. So accurate and selective laser marking is required. When the laser marker is adjusted to focus on the uncoated side, there is no effect on the opposite side of the thin glass substrate if the appropriate wavelength at 355nm is used. Since traceability marking requires small sizes, marking speed from 50 mm/s to 150 mm/s, provides high throughput, depending on fonts and graphics.
