Panel dimension control

An automated warehouse has been created in a fitted kitchen production plant to manage semi-worked panels that have to be assembled to obtain the finished unit. The panels are taken from the warehouse and sent to the automatic line that packages the elements, collects them according to the order number and puts them on pallets ready to be shipped. The panel width has to be controlled during material movement with a precision of about +/- 10 mm. The loading correctness and length have to be checked. An area sensor can measure the width with a 7 mm resolution and can transmit the information to the system using the 0-10 V analogue output or RS485 serial output. Managing the information and for example, combining it with the material movement speed, the panel width can be measured and the shape can be controlled. The RS485 output can communicate the status of each single beam and thus enable the operator to reconstruct the material shape.
