One of the most difficult controls in the tissue sector to carry-out is the presence control of transparent film on paper rolls. In fact the films can be shiny, opaque, colored with drawings or text and moreover, the white paper rolls can have drawings and decorations. All these different variables oblige us to carry-out the control in the central carton tube. Placing a background suppression sensor in axis with the tube hole and adjusting it in order to make it detect up to the middle of the tube, the operator reached a reliable control of the package presence and of any defects in the sealing. A process problem may not allow the complete sealing of the film, and thus leaving an aperture in near the tube. The sensor can detect the aperture and thus the package can be discarded and remachined.
