Automaker switches to RFID tracking

The ability of RFID products to survive the harsh conditions of the automobile manufacturing environment makes the use of RFID in many facets of the process an easy choice. The non line-of-sight and the ability to write data to RFID tags allowed the automaker to speed up production and reduce warehousing costs. Using tags mounted on the car frame and RFID antennas mounted in strategic places, they were able to track the entire production process in real time and manage inventory more effectively.
