Sorting companies require a track-and-trace system, so that each container arriving at the sorting company is provided with a pallet label. Pallets as well as containers will geta SSCC-Label (Serial Shipment Container Code), with which they are identified during distribution. The sorting company has a tracking & tracing equipment to scan the SSCC.
Labels are put on the pallets and when the forklift drives the pallets into the truck, it passes a fixed scanner, mounted within a steel construction on both sides of the loading dock. The two scanners (connected in Master- Slave configuration) read the SSCC code and transfer their data to the Host. If the correct role containers for this truck are loaded, the scanner activates a green light.
